Softball Recap: Dora Takes a Loss

Dora extended their losing streak to five on Monday, dropping them down to 6-22. They came up short against the Haleyville Lions, falling 15-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-7 two weeks ago.

As for Haleyville, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-15. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

For Haleyville's part, Mariella Vickery was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave Vickery a new career-high. Kate Wilson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dora will venture away from home to square off against Sumiton Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Haleyville, they will head out to face off against Lynn at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
