Baseball Game Preview: Rubidoux Falcons vs. La Sierra Eagles

The Rubidoux Falcons will venture away from home to face off against the La Sierra Eagles at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Rubidoux has struggled recently with 14 losses in a row, while La Sierra will arrive with seven straight wins.

Rubidoux came up short against Ramona on Thursday, falling 23-2.

Rubidoux saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emilio Jimenez, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask La Sierra). They were the clear victors by an 18-3 margin over Norte Vista on Thursday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Eagles with their most commanding win of the season.

La Sierra's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-11. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Rubidoux, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-19.

Rubidoux might still be hurting after the 9-1 loss they got from La Sierra when the teams last played back in April. Can the Falcons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
