Softball Recap: Lynn Makes It Four in a Row at Home

Lynn had won four straight at home, but on Saturday they bumped their record up to 17-13-2 to make it five. They blew past the Dora Bulldogs 13-4. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won ten games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Bella Harper made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in February. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alli Dutton, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Alyssa McKinney was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Lynn was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.

As for Dora, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 17 of their last 21 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-22 record this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured 15 losses in a row.

On Dora's side, they saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bailey Reid, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Another was Aviana Goodmon, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Looking ahead, Lynn is taking a road trip to square off against Carbon Hill at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Dora, they will be playing at home against Pinson Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
