After both having extra time off, the Western Wildcats and the Schoolhouse Prep Wolfpack will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Western's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Schoolhouse Prep's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Western took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Thursday. Everything went their way against Monarch as Western made off with a 10-1 victory. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Ali Solo made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Solo was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.

Analys Uriarte was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Schoolhouse Prep saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Francela Verdura, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Even though they lost, Schoolhouse Prep hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in three consecutive games.
Western's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Schoolhouse Prep, they now have a losing record of 5-6.
Schoolhouse Prep's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Western has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Schoolhouse Prep, though, as they've been averaging only 3.9 strikeouts. Will Western keep running through batters, or will Schoolhouse Prep buck the trend?
