Providence Grove waltzed into their matchup on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wheatmore Warriors, sneaking past 59-56. The Patriots have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.

Providence Grove found their leader in sophomore Laurel Bernhardt, who posted 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jada Nixon, who scored 12 points.

Providence Grove pushed their record up to 10-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points per game. As for Wheatmore, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-6 record this season.

Providence Grove didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-33 defeat against Uwharrie Charter Academy on the 24th. As for Wheatmore, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 48-42 loss against Randleman on the 24th.
