Basketball Game Preview: Soper Bears vs. Colbert Leopards

Soper is 1-7 against Colbert since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Bears are taking a road trip to challenge the Leopards at 6:00 p.m. Colbert took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Soper, who comes in off a win.

Colbert will be up against a hot Soper team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Bears claimed a resounding 54-20 win over Milburn. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 116th, while the Eagles are ranked 356th) , the win on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Colbert took a blow against Tishomingo on Wednesday, falling 64-32.

Colbert's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Soper, their victory bumped their record up to 15-4.

Soper couldn't quite finish off Colbert in their previous matchup back in January of 2025 and fell 39-37. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
