Basketball Recap: Elma Comes Up Short

Elma suffered their biggest defeat since January 6, 2024 on Saturday. They lost 70-47 to the Seattle Christian Warriors. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now lost three in a row.

Despite the loss, Elma still got an impressive performance from Isaac McGaffey, who went 9 of 17 on his way to 20 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. McGaffey's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Theo Flores was another key player, putting up nine points.

Elma's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Seattle Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.

Elma will be playing at home against Rainier at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Elma is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.6 points per game this season. Seattle Christian has already played their next contest (against Bellevue Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
