Baseball Recap: Cosumnes Oaks Takes a Loss

Cosumnes Oaks was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 18-3 to the Laguna Creek Cardinals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-2 last Monday.

Izzy Davis made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Cosumnes Oaks is 5-2 when Davis posts two or more runs, but 2-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Massimo Jimenez, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Cosumnes Oaks' defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Laguna Creek, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-8.

While Cosumnes Oaks had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
