Football Recap: Cheyenne Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If Cheyenne was riding high fresh off their 42-0 takedown of Western last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Desert Shields were dealt a 58-14 defeat at the hands of the Pahrump Valley Trojans on Friday. The Desert Shields lost against the Trojans in their previous head to head back in August of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 29-8 score last time.

A big part of Pahrump Valley's win came down to the chemistry between Kayne Horibe and his top target Ryan Hamlin. Horibe threw for 271 yards and one TD while completing 86.7% of his passes while Hamlin gained 112 total yards and three touchdowns. 80 of Horibe's passing yards were hauled in by Lucas Gavenda.

Cheyenne's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Pahrump Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Cheyenne and Pahrump Valley will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Desert Shields are set to square off against their familiar foe Eldorado at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Pahrump Valley will face off against rival Virgin Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
