Volleyball Game Preview: Bolingbrook Raiders vs. Joliet West Tigers

The Bolingbrook Raiders will head out on the road to square off against the Joliet West Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Joliet West took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Bolingbrook, who comes in off a win.

Bolingbrook took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Plainfield South 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Raiders have posted since April 26th.

Bolingbrook had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-18, 25-18.

Bolingbrook's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dominik Pietruszewski, who had eight digs and one assist. Those eight digs gave Pietruszewski a new career-high.

Meanwhile, after a string of 11 wins, Joliet West's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to Lyons.

The final score came out to 25-17, 25-16.

Bolingbrook is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-6 record this season. As for Joliet West, their loss dropped their record down to 22-9.

Bolingbrook was able to grind out a solid victory over Joliet West when the teams last played back in April, winning 2-0. Do the Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
