Volleyball Recap: Niobrara/Verdigre Starts off Right with Win over Madison

Niobrara/Verdigre had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Madison Dragons 3-0 on Thursday. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered a 3-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Niobrara/Verdigre was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-11, 25-21.

Taylen Stark paced Niobrara/Verdigre's offense, picking up nine kills. Stark got some help from Starlet Nielsen and her 24 assists. Alayna Clark controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Niobrara/Verdigre will head out to face off against Creighton at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Madison, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Shelby-Rising City.
