Volleyball Recap: Lafayette Extends Home Winning Streak to Three

Lafayette lost to Highlands on Saturday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Generals came out on top against the Bluebirds by a score of 2-0.

Lafayette didn't let Highlands take a single set, but it sure wasn't easy: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 27-25, 25-23.

Audrey Gossett paced Lafayette's offense, picking up 12 kills. Gossett got some help from Elise Trimble and her 25 assists.

Highlands lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Hayden Gessner, who had 14 digs and one assist. Another player making a difference was Ava Muzumdar, who had 16 assists and four digs.

Lafayette pushed their record up to 17-13 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Highlands, their loss ended a five-match streak of away wins and brought them to 20-9.

Lafayette has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Whitley County on the 11th. As for Highlands, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Boyd County on the 11th.
