Basketball Recap: Galva Drops Highest Score of Season Against Knoxville

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Galva). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging an 89-45 win over the Knoxville Blue Bullets. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matches by 21 points or more this season.

Blake Stahl was his usual excellent self, going 22 of 33 on his way to 51 points along with seven boards and four steals. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.7 points per game. Another player making a difference was MJ Louck, who posted nine points in addition to eight rebounds and six steals.

Galva smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Galva's victory bumped their record up to 19-6. As for Knoxville, they are on a 28-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-27.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Galva will take on Wethersfield at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Knoxville, they will challenge Biggsville West Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Knoxville is facing Biggsville West Central at the right time seeing as Biggsville West Central is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
