Softball Recap: Winston County Takes a Loss

Winston County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 15-11 to the Meek Tigers. The Yellowjackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Chasty Garrison and REILLY WILLIAMSON did some serious damage despite the final result: Garrison went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs, while WILLIAMSON scored four runs and stole Three bases. while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave WILLIAMSON a new career-high. A.J. SUTHERLAND was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while going 2-for-4.

Winston County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Meek, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Winston County will venture away from home to square off against Sumiton Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Meek, they will head out to face off against Addison at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
