            Softball Recap: Zuni Thunderbirds vs. Navajo Prep Eagles        
        
		
        
        
            Zuni had lost six straight at home, but  on Thursday they dropped their record down to 5-17 to make it seven. They lost  16-2 to the Navajo Prep Eagles. Having soared to a lofty 14  runs in the game before, the Thunderbirds couldn't push the score so high this time.
As for Navajo Prep, the  victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 17-5. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 11 matches by six  runs or more  so far this season.
For Navajo Prep's part,  Leilani Wood made a splash while hitting and pitching. She  pitched three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Wood has been consistent: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in three of her five plate appearances with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI.
 In other batting news, Navajo Prep got a  massive  performance out of  Amia Salazar, who  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  RBI.  Isabella Yazzie was another key player,  getting on base  in all five of her plate appearances with two  stolen bases and one  run.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Navajo Prep beat Zuni by a score of  13-3 later that day.
