While Mt. Vernon's victory against Buffalo wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mountaineers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 win over the Bison on Monday. The Mountaineers haven't had any issues with the Bison recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Mt. Vernon's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 10-10. As for Buffalo, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-23.

Mt. Vernon has already played their next contest, a 7-6 victory against East Newton on the 5th. As for Buffalo, they will square off against Osage at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.29 runs per game on average), something the Bison will no doubt try to take advantage of.
