Softball Game Preview: Granger Spartans vs. Tri-Cities Prep Jaguars

The Granger Spartans will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Tri-Cities Prep Jaguars at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Granger is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game dating back to last season on Saturday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Grandview. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Spartans couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, Tri-Cities Prep unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 32-6 to Medical Lake on Thursday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Kiana Westfall and Olivia Garza did some serious damage despite the final result: Westfall got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and one RBI, while Garza scored two runs and stole a base.

Granger took their win against Tri-Cities Prep when the teams last played back in April of 2021 by a conclusive 18-3. Does Granger have another victory up their sleeve, or will Tri-Cities Prep turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
