Soccer Game Preview: Nimitz vs. Lake Highlands

The Nimitz Vikings will face off against the Lake Highlands Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

Nimitz is headed into the matchup having not lost since January 7 and will look to keep things rolling. They and Irving finished up their contest with a 0-0 draw on Friday.

Meanwhile, Lake Highlands waltzed into their game on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. Their defense stepped up to hand the Rams a 7-0 shutout. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by five goals or more this season.

Lake Highlands' victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those four contests. Nimitz's draw gives them a new season record of 6-3-3.

Nimitz suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Lake Highlands when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can Nimitz avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
