Jackson Academy and Southern Academy are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. The Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Tuesday, Jackson Academy came up short against Patrician Academy and fell 53-40. The Eagles have struggled against the Saints recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Jackson Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kayden Moore went 8-for-16 to rack up 18 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Darren Burroughs, who posted five points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, Southern Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 52-48 to Clarke Prep.

Jackson Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Southern Academy, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Jackson Academy lost to Southern Academy on the road by a decisive 64-49 margin when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
