Basketball Recap: Excelsior Classical Academy Flying Lions vs. Hawbridge Herons
Excelsior Classical Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 66-14 win over the Hawbridge Herons. The victory was some much needed relief for the Flying Lions as it spelled an end to their 21-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Shawn Francis-Service had a dynamite game for Excelsior Classical Academy, going 10 for 16 en route to 25 points plus four steals. Francis-Service's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Jason Maldonado was another key player, earning six points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Excelsior Classical Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Emerson Waldorf at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hawbridge, they are taking a road trip to challenge Alamance Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
