Softball Recap: Ringgold Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

Ringgold made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Bossier, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Ringgold never let Bossier get on the board and left with a 12-0 win on Wednesday. Considering the Redskins have won five matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jayla Joyner was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in walks (one). She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Jolynn Hall was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Nixie Bolyer, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Ringgold was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .314 or higher in five consecutive contests.

Ringgold has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.9 runs over those games. Bossier's loss was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

Looking ahead, Ringgold will venture away from home to take on Plain Dealing at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bossier, they will host Haynesville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
