With a playoff win on the line, Jackson-Reed rose to the challenge on Thursday. They blew past the Woodson Warriors 20-3. Considering the Tigers have won nine matches by more than ten runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Alex Nehrer made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Nehrer was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Grace Harscheid, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Madie Williams, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Jackson-Reed was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .731. They are 7-3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
The win made it two in a row for Jackson-Reed and bumps their season record up to 9-7-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games.
