Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Franklin Road Academy

Franklin Road Academy put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitcher stepped up to hand The Webb School Feet a 16-0 shutout. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Feet, too.

Millie Pardue made a big impact no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two).

In other batting news, Eleanna Nappi and Destiny Goodwin did most of the damage at the plate: Nappi scored a run while going 1-for-4, while Goodwin scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Goodwin has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Shelby Thomas, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Franklin Road Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts every time they've taken the field this season.

Franklin Road Academy's record now sits at 3-0. As for The Webb School, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Franklin Road Academy Panthers face off against Middle Tennessee Christian Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Webb School will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Columbia Academy at 5:30 p.m. on April 3rd.
