Basketball Game Preview: Decatur Community Red Devils vs. Northern Valley Huskies

The Decatur Community Red Devils will take on the Northern Valley Huskies at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Decatur Community is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Oakley just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 48-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Plainsmen.

Decatur Community might have lost, but man, Brylee Minnick was a machine: she went 7 of 15 on her way to 14 points along with eight boards and four steals. Minnick is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Maria Rodriguez, who posted five points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Northern Valley earned a 38-29 win over Hill City on Monday.

Northern Valley's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-7. As for Decatur Community, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.

Everything went Decatur Community's way against Northern Valley in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as Decatur Community made off with a 61-37 win. Will Decatur Community repeat their success, or does Northern Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
