Basketball Game Preview: Durant Cougars vs. Strawberry Crest Chargers

Durant and Strawberry Crest are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2017, but not for long. The Durant Cougars will square off against the Strawberry Crest Chargers on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

It was a proper cat-fight when Durant took on Mulberry on Saturday. Durant took a 47-32 bruising from Mulberry. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while the Panthers are ranked 108th).

Meanwhile, Strawberry Crest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat. They took a 41-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of Alonso.

Durant will have to contain Airreonna Cauldwell as she made an impact in Strawberry Crest's last game. She dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds. Cauldwell is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least ten every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kate Hartman, who posted seven points.

Durant's loss dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Strawberry Crest, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-16.

Everything came up roses for Durant against Strawberry Crest in their previous matchup last Wednesday, as the team secured a 60-5 win. In that contest, Durant amassed a halftime lead of 30-5, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
