Softball Game Preview: Carolina Forest Panthers vs. Summerville Green Wave

The Carolina Forest Panthers will challenge the Summerville Green Wave at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Carolina Forest comes in on three and Summerville on 57.

If Carolina Forest beats Summerville with four runs on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Panthers had just enough and edged out Cane Bay 4-3.

Kaysen Warehime spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sienna Levy, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Mady Eason was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Meanwhile, Summerville made easy work of Ashley Ridge on Tuesday and carried off a 12-1 win. Considering the Green Wave have won 19 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Summerville's victory was their 29th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 27-0. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.4 runs on average over those games. As for Carolina Forest, their victory bumped their record up to 17-9-1.
