Basketball Recap: Bell Griffins vs. School Without Walls Penguins
Bell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were dealt a 47-19 loss at the hands of the School Without Walls Penguins. The Griffins were probably out for revenge after losing 57-47 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Bell lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Xavier Kenner, who posted three points and three steals. Abner Mussie was another key player, putting up four points.
Chidiire Nwokwu was a one-man wrecking crew for School Without Walls as he went 5 for 10 on his way to 11 points in addition to six boards and four steals. That's the most steals Nwokwu has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Tahkari Bates, who put up 12 points.
Bell's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for School Without Walls, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-10.
Bell has already played their next contest, a 76-36 loss against Eastern on the 24th. As for School Without Walls, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 47-42 win against Bard on the 24th.
