Softball Game Preview: Sullivan Golden Arrows vs. Northview Knights

The Sullivan Golden Arrows will head out to square off against the Northview Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Thursday, Sullivan came up short against South Putnam and fell 8-5.

Meanwhile, Northview got themselves on the board against North Putnam on Wednesday, but North Putnam never followed suit. They had just enough and edged out the Cougars 2-0. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Not much got past Maggie Krause, who gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks to keep North Putnam off the board. Krause has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Northview saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mackie Pell, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Sullivan's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Northview, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Sullivan beat Northview 5-2 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Arrows since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
