Volleyball Game Preview: Baystate Academy vs. Longmeadow Lancers + How To Watch

Baystate Academy hasn't had much luck against Longmeadow recently, but that could start to change on Monday. Baystate Academy is taking a road trip to square off against Longmeadow at 6:30 p.m.

Baystate Academy is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest defeat since September 8th on Friday. They lost 3-0 to Minnechaug Regional.

While Baystate Academy was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Minnechaug Regional's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-20, 26-24.

Meanwhile, Longmeadow put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Reading Memorial as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

While Longmeadow won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-17, 25-23.

Baystate Academy better keep an eye on Annie Kro. She was instrumental in Longmeadow's win, getting 14 digs and one assist. Those 14 digs gave Kro a new career-high. Tess Tonsing also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Longmeadow was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in 12 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Longmeadow's record now sits at 10-0. As for Baystate Academy, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Baystate Academy suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Longmeadow in their previous meeting on September 8th. Can Baystate Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
