Volleyball Recap: Caydense Smith Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Nativity BVM

Marian Catholic not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since October 10, 2024 (when they won 3-0). They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Nativity BVM Green Wave. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-7, 25-17.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Marian Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caydense Smith, who had five digs and four aces. The dominant performance also gave Smith a new career-high in assists (six).

Smith wasn't the only good server: Marian Catholic was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in five consecutive contests dating back to last season.

The victory got Marian Catholic back to even at 1-1. As for Nativity BVM, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
