Baseball Game Preview: Mapletown Maples vs. Jefferson-Morgan Rockets

Mapletown hasn't had much luck against Jefferson-Morgan recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Maples will head out on the road to take on the Rockets at 4:00 p.m. Mapletown has given up an average of 12.9 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Mapletown is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game two weeks ago. They came up short against West Greene, falling 14-0.

Mapletown saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Daniel Fox, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Fox has hit this season.

Meanwhile, Jefferson-Morgan waltzed into their contest on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They skirted past the Eagles 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rockets have posted against the Eagles since March 26, 2021.

Jefferson-Morgan's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Mapletown, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Mapletown suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Jefferson-Morgan in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Maples avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
