Football Game Preview: Hancock Panthers vs. Stonewall Jackson Generals

The Hancock Panthers will take on the Stonewall Jackson Generals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses dating back to last season for Hancock and ten for Stonewall Jackson dating back to last season.

It was a proper cat-fight when Hancock faced off against North Star on Friday. The Panthers were dealt a 42-6 defeat at the hands of the Cougars. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Panthers came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 215th in Maryland, while the Cougars are ranked 498th in Pennsylvania).

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Stonewall Jackson's offense. They took a blow against Craig County on Friday, falling 54-0. The shutout was out of character for the Generals seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in August.

Hancock's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Stonewall Jackson, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Hancock didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Stonewall Jackson in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with a 34-28 win. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Generals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
