Meanwhile, Lawrence Free State's game on Thursday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over Shawnee Mission West. The high-scoring effort was just what Lawrence Free State needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

They hit Shawnee Mission West with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Siena Schamberger (2), Neylana Haque, and Lauren Woods.

Lawrence Free State now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Olathe East, their victory bumped their record up to 2-5.

Everything went Olathe East's way against Lawrence Free State when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Olathe East made off with a 5-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
