Basketball Game Preview: Heard County Braves vs. Darlington Tigers

The Heard County Braves will head out on the road to challenge the Darlington Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Heard County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Darlington likes a good challenge.

On Saturday, Heard County earned a 60-50 victory over Southwest Atlanta Christian.

Darlington has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 71-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mount Vernon on Saturday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Tigers came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while the Mustangs are ranked 247th).

Heard County is also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points per game. As for Darlington, their defeat ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 14-4.

Heard County might still be hurting after the 79-54 loss they got from Darlington in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can Heard County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
