Football Recap: Barnesville Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Barnesville can now relate to. They lost 36-13 to the Wheelersburg Pirates on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 34 points in the game before, the Shamrocks couldn't push the score so high this time.

Wheelersburg's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Braylon Rucker led the charge by rushing for 114 yards and two touchdowns. Those 114 rushing yards gave Rucker a new career-high. Stephen Hall was in the mix as well, providing Wheelersburg with two TDs.

Barnesville's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Wheelersburg, the win keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.

Barnesville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wheelersburg, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Nelsonville-York at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Pirates 7.8, the Buckeyes 7.9) so any points scored will be well earned.
