Basketball Game Preview: The O'Neal School Falcons vs. Cape Fear Christian Academy Eagles

The O'Neal School Falcons just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Cape Fear Christian Academy Eagles at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

On Friday, The O'Neal School took a blow against Trinity Christian, falling 71-29. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 492nd, while the Crusaders are ranked 98th).

Meanwhile, Cape Fear Christian Academy came up short against New Garden Friends on Friday and fell 62-53.

The O'Neal School will have to contain Justin Chestnutt as he made an impact in Cape Fear Christian Academy's last game. He almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 15 boards. Those 15 rebounds gave Chestnutt a new career-high. Kayden Dunkins was another key player, putting up ten points and six boards.

Cape Fear Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 13-8. As for The O'Neal School, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.

The O'Neal School was taken down by Cape Fear Christian Academy 64-29 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can The O'Neal School avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
