Fort Dorchester hadn't beaten Summerville on the road since April 30, 2021 but that history sure didn't bother them on Wednesday. The Patriots won by a run and slipped past the Green Wave 3-2. The victory was familiar territory for the Patriots, who have now won six matches in a row.

Banks Wickersham made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lee Lovelace, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Fort Dorchester's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-6. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Summerville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-8.
