Baseball Recap: Patriot Triumphs

Patriot hadn't done well against Ramona recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Warriors never let the Rams get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. This was a revenge game for the Warriors: when they faced off against the Rams back in April, they had to take a 7-0 loss.

The result came thanks to Javier Tinoco's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up ten Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Patriot is 6-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 8-10 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Isaac Martinez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Patriot was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.

Patriot's record now sits at 14-12. As for Ramona, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-13-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Rams beat Patriot by a score of 11-10 on Wednesday.
