Basketball Recap: St. Joseph Christian Comes Up Short

St. Joseph Christian lost against Rock Port back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The St. Joseph Christian Lions were dealt a 68-32 defeat at the hands of the Rock Port Blue Jays. The matchup marked the Lions' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Rock Port was led to victory by Jack Meyerkorth and Reid Ellis. Meyerkorth went 10 for 19 on his way to 26 points and four steals, while Ellis dropped a double-double on 13 points and 18 boards. The contest was Meyerkorth's third in a row with at least ten points. Logan Ellis was another key player, putting up 11 points and three steals.

St. Joseph Christian moved to 8-7 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Rock Port, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

St. Joseph Christian will look to defend their home court on January 21st against Stanberry at 7:30 p.m. As for Rock Port, they will be taking part in a tournament against West Nodaway at 5:45 a.m. on Thursday.
