Basketball Recap: Monroe Central's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Monday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Waterford, Monroe Central was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They took down the Caldwell Redskins 50-33. Given the Seminoles' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 148th, while the Redskins are ranked 575th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Monroe Central pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Caldwell, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Monroe Central and Fort Frye will round out the year against one another at at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Caldwell, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Monroe Central at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
