Basketball Recap: Sprayberry's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Tuesday

Sprayberry lost to Creekview back in January of 2020, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Sprayberry Yellow Jackets came out on top against the Creekview Grizzlies by a score of 69-61. Given the Yellow Jackets' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 154th, while the Grizzlies are ranked 318th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sprayberry has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Creekview, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-11.

Sprayberry will head out to face off against Riverwood at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Riverwood knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 matches -- so hopefully Sprayberry likes a good challenge. As for Creekview, they will be playing at home against Pope at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
