Recap: Airport Eagles vs. Midland Valley Mustangs

The Airport Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They fell just short of Midland Valley by a score of 59-57. Airport has not had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Airport's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elias Guest-McCray, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Guest-McCray hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Tyler Green, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and four steals.

Airport has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. As for Midland Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 4-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Airport will take on the Thoroughbreds at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully South Aiken focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Tuesday. As for Midland Valley, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Fighting Green Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th.
