Softball Recap: St. Augustine Catholic Finds Home Field Redemption Against Catalina

There's no place like home for St. Augustine Catholic, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They blew past the Catalina Trojans 17-1 on Thursday. The Wolves haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

St. Augustine Catholic got a massive performance out of Maria Martinez, who went 2-for-4 with six RBI, three runs, and one triple. The dominant performance gave Martinez a new career-high in runs. Lourdes Gamez was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and six RBI.

The win got St. Augustine Catholic back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, St. Augustine Catholic will face off against Santa Rita at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. This will be St. Augustine Catholic's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Catalina, they are taking a road trip to challenge San Tan Foothills at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Catalina has now lost nine straight dating back to last season, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 20.
