Baseball Recap: Woodland Wolverines vs. Cheraw Braves
Woodland had lost three straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 5-15 to make it four. They lost 17-6 to the Cheraw Braves. The Wolverines were not able to make up for their loss to the Braves from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Mac Milligan made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Woodland is 2-1 when Milligan posts two or more runs, but 3-14 otherwise.
As for Cheraw, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games.
On Cheraw's side, Tyler Gordon looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Gordon has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Terrence Blackmon was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Anthony Strong, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
