Baseball Game Preview: Baird Bears vs. Aspermont Hornets

The Baird Bears will challenge the Aspermont Hornets at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Baird came up short against Jayton on Monday, falling 10-1. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Baird saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Chappell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI. That RBI was Chappell's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Aspermont scored the most runs they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They lost 21-10 to Jayton.

Aspermont's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Baird, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.

Baird was able to grind out a solid win over Aspermont when the teams last played on Tuesday, winning 7-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
