Basketball Recap: Burroughs Comes Up Short

Burroughs saw some tournament action on Saturday. They received a blow as they fell 60-44 to the South Spartans. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 732nd, while the Spartans are ranked 330th).

Burroughs has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season. As for South, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-11 record this season.

Burroughs has already played their next game, a 60-44 loss against South on the 24th. As for the Spartans, they will take on Torrance at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
