Football Recap: Vohnn Brown Leads Mt. Carmel's Defense on Friday

Mt. Carmel was the 28-24 winner over Ramona when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Sundevils fell 28-18 to the Bulldogs on Friday. The Sundevils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Mt. Carmel lost, don't look at Nate Donohue. Despite the final result, he rushed for 59 yards on only five carries, and also picked up 52 receiving yards.all of that, receiving production came thanks to one massive catch

Mt. Carmel didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Vohnn Brown. Another thorn in Ramona's side was Caleb McNickle, who made 16 total tackles.

Mt. Carmel now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Ramona, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 3-4.

Looking ahead, Mt. Carmel will welcome Valley Center at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Ramona, they will venture away from home to challenge San Pasqual at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
