Lenawee Christian gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 66-24 win over the Memphis Yellowjackets. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Cougars just coasted through the last quarter.

Despite the loss, Memphis saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ryver Short rushed for 207 yards and three scores while picking up 9.0 yards per carry.

Lenawee Christian wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 55-0 victory against Bellevue on the 5th. As for Memphis, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 68-0 defeat against Brown City on the 5th.
