Volleyball Recap: St. James Academy Falls Despite Big Games from Mya Lee and Catelynn Conrad + How To Watch

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, St. James Academy couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Lansing Lions by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The Thunder were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Despite the defeat, St. James Academy had strong showings from Catelynn Conrad, who had ten digs, and Mya Lee, who had 16 kills and 12 digs. Lee is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last 14 games she's played. Ellen Dorsey also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

The loss snapped St. James Academy's winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 27-11 record. As for Lansing, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That lines up perfectly with their 30-10 record this season.

St. James Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Saint Thomas Aquinas on the 30th. As for Lansing, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Blue Valley Southwest on the 1st.
