Volleyball Recap: Tulare Union Falls Despite Big Games from Jaksyn Freitas and Jiannah Freitas

Tulare Union was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tulare Western Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on October 7th.

While Tulare Union ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 23-25, 25-17, 25-23.

Tulare Union's loss came despite strong showings from Jiannah Freitas and Jaksyn Freitas. Jiannah had 19 kills, three blocks, and two aces, while Jaksyn had 13 kills, two aces, and one block. Jiannah is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least six every time she's taken the court this season.

Among those leading the charge was Maliah Mu?oz, who had 17 digs and two aces.

Tulare Union's defeat dropped their record down to 6-26. As for Tulare Western, their win ended a three-match drought at home and bumped them up to 14-19.

Tulare Union does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tulare Western, they will head out on the road to square off against Atascadero at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
